The Haus of Strauss is Vienna’s most authentic classical concert experience — a living monument to the Strauss dynasty set inside the historic Strauss Hall of 1837, where all four members of the Strauss family once performed. Located at Casino Zögernitz in the 19th district, this landmark venue has been twice recommended by the New York Times in its renowned “36 Hours in Vienna” series, and described by one of Austria’s largest newspapers as “almost a daily little New Year’s concert.” One ticket combines three unforgettable experiences: a sparkling wine reception in the historic Octagon, full access to the House of Strauss Museum, and a live classical concert in the last surviving hall where every Strauss genius stood on stage.
Unlike typical tourist concerts, the Haus of Strauss delivers an intimate evening of live music in a space of genuine historic significance. A first-class orchestra and soprano perform masterpieces by Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Brahms, and Strauss, accompanied by cinematic storytelling and an elegant light show that brings the rise of the Strauss dynasty vividly to life. The museum — spanning 2,000 square metres across ten rooms — allows guests to immerse themselves in Vienna’s golden age of music before the performance begins. An audio guide narrated by a direct descendant of the Strauss family adds a personal dimension found nowhere else in the city.
Each evening features a curated selection of Vienna’s most beloved masterpieces, performed live in the Strauss Hall of 1837:
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart — Le Nozze di Figaro Overture · Eine kleine Nachtmusik · Der Hölle Rache from Die Zauberflöte (Soprano)
Ludwig van Beethoven — Romanze in F major · Für Elise · Ode to Joy
Franz Schubert — Ave Maria (Soprano)
Johannes Brahms — Hungarian Dance No. 5
Johann Strauss II — Freiheits-Lieder Waltz · Wiener Blut Waltz · The Blue Danube Waltz
Eduard Strauss — Die Hochquelle Polka-mazur
Josef Strauss — Dynamiden Waltz
Johann Strauss I — Radetzky March
The programme is performed by a first-class live orchestra with soprano soloist, enhanced by cinematic narrative and a modern light show that traces the story of the Strauss dynasty across the evening.
